Chad Hackenbracht started in the 31st position for the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 during his debut at Daytona International Speedway. At the beginning of the race Chad was looking very smooth out on the track. He dropped back one position on lap 2 in order to ride in safe spot with a gap behind him. On lap 6 the #52 car got loose and hit the wall collecting 9 other cars including the #58 Tastee Chocolate Apple Chevrolet driven by Chad. As Chad came off the corner he went low listening to his spotter and before he could get by them he was hit on the right rear quarter and spun into the crash. He was checked out at the infield care center and walk away with no injuries.
Greg Hackenbracht owner of the #58 Tastee Apple Chevrolet said, “I am proud of the whole organization and the time they have put into making this weekend a success. This is the beginning of a long journey. Susan and I very proud of our son Chad and cannot wait to get to Texas”.
Chad will be testing at Texas Motor Speedway on March 9 and then enter into the race on April 16 for the Rattlesnake 150.
