JOLIET, Ill. August 28, 2010) – As the weekend began race day for the #58 Tastee Apple Chevrolet was looking promising for Chad Hackenbracht who qualified for the event in 11th position. Taking the green flag for the Ansell Protective Gloves 150 Hackenbracht fell back a couple of spots while the rest of the Top 15 found their running spots on the track. The first caution flew on Lap 7 with a three car accident leaving Chad restarting in the 10th position. Chad stated, “The car is really stable just a little loose”.
By Lap 22, Chad drove his Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS up to the 7th position and was chasing down the leader at 3 tenths per lap. As Chad continued to hang with the leaders and pass lap traffic Chad came down the front tri-oval at Chicagoland Speedway and made a great move to avoid a lapped down car by moving to the apron upon returning to the track the #58 Tastee Apple Chevrolet had a catastrophic right front tire failure ending the great weekend for the CGH Motorsports team.
"Tire Blew," said Hackenbracht, coasting around the wall between turns 1 and 2. Crew Chief Rodney Jockisch voice came over the radio, “Let’s bring it in and get four tires”, unfortunately, Chad replied, “We are done”. CLICK ON "READ MORE" BELOW FOR FULL STORY
